Below is an auction I just found on Ebay. The Mantle is an obvious forgery but you have to look at the last photo that is contained in the auction. The majority of the names on that list are on Ebay's banned COA list and the others, in my opinion, should also be on Ebay's banned COA list.

That is incredible. he only recognizes opinions of other people whose opinions others don't recognize. Pitiful indeed.

Here is another auction with some of the same credentials.
Coaches Corner, MFP and Nick Burczyk together in one auction!!!

If there was any uncertainty about where Drew Max/AAU belonged in the heirarchy of things, I think this erases all doubt. ;) Any self-respecting expert would be screaming from the rooftops if he/she was lumped in with that unsavory lot.

With this and the various web sites and publications that have been cropping up lately, what we are seeing is a coordinated "marketing" effort by a handful of people to discredit some and rehabilitate others.

It's really reaching "through the looking glass" proportions of unreality.

I think that sums it up nicely.

You just have to love it when the seller of an item tells you which authenticators you are allowed to use.
Only in the sports autograph business would someone even attempt something like this.
Can you imagine buying a house and the seller tells you that you have to use his list of approved inspectors??

Wait! So let me get this straight. They only offer a money back guarantee if one of the people that don't fail anything, fail it? Wow!

The only thing more certain than a passing grade from one of these characters is that Jiffy Lube will try to sell me every filter in the book when I get my oil changed.

:D

I'm surprised Jiffy Lube isn't on their list of approved authenticators...

That's a pretty interesting list.

Another "MFP" piece of crap. The Mantle on the photo is an obvious forgery, but check out the Mantle signature on the contract; even that is a forgery.

As it gets harder and more expensive to obtain "of the era" balls and photos, we see more junk like this signed. Why? Because it dates to a period when it is plausable Mantle signed it. What's next? A contract showing that Mantle signed a stack of 1976 $2 bills?

Too bad... an otherwise nice piece of memorabilia is ruined.
