Nice card - I know Phil Garry picked one up (I believe from another board member) a few months back.

Hi Leon,

Nice pick-up! You don't see them often and usually not with the custom ad on back. There's also one weird thing about the card:

Baker is shown standing next to Dan Shaugnessy, the player for whom he was traded! Connie Mack traded Dan for Frank. So -- were they both together just for picture day?

Shaugnessy later went on to become the president of the International League from 1936 to 1950. Other major leaguers also are pictured in this team shot.

Nice pick-up, Leon. I was watching that one and placed a token bid but did not seriously pursue it because I have the exact same image in the form of a cabinet card. I believe one of our board's major postcard collectors might have the postcard version but I bet it doesn't have the advertising back like yours does.

Thanks for the info Phil and thanks for showing the cabinet. That is very cool looking. I love the old time scenes in our cards...

Goodwin sold one a few auctions ago, went for around $450-500 if I recall. It did not have ad info on the back.

Oh, and Leon, please stop buying postcards!

Sorry I ran you up Leon. I had a minor interest in the card and thought about going higher but have a few other things on the plate. Great pickup. I've seen one or two others besides the ones already mentioned.

I agree. 100%! You're a type card collector. Now, you have a postcard. Good enough. Move along now.

So I guess I won't show the dozens of postcards I have picked up lately? What's a type collector to do when he runs out of types to collect? Fortunately for ya'll my main interests are very low end and generic. I can't hang with the big time postcards, the big time type cards about dry me out.
