Hey Folks
I thought this was neat so picked it up. Any ideas on an approximate date? It can't be too new with the prices and style of the uniform. regards

Maybe late 40's to early 50's. Just a guess.

Thanks Barry....those are the approximate dates I was thinking too, maybe even later 50's? We'll see if we have any minor league Wilson uniform experts out there :). Ya' never know....

I'm going to say late 1930s to early 1940s.

I'm thinking postwar...the use of the term "Printed in U.S.A." may provide a clue; anyone know when that would have become required by law?

I don't see any postal zone numbers in the addresses. I'm not sure, but I think these came into existence during WWII.

Zip codes were first used in the US in 1963.

Dan - I am referring to the postal zone codes that were in effect BEFORE the Zip Codes were instituted. As I recall, they were 1-digit and 2-digit numbers, and they may have only been used for the larger cities. Also, and again I could be wrong, but I think the old zone codes were incorporated into the Zip Codes as the last 2 digits of the Zip Codes. See the vintage WWII-era pic below in which the address for the Cleveland Vault Co. is 8616 Buckeye Rd., Cleveland 4, Ohio.

Thanks Val...I've never even noticed those codes before.
