Here are three snapshots I just acquired. On back of the photos it says Yankees vs. St. Louis at Yankee Stadium. I assume it is the Browns and not a world series against the Cardinals since I can make out some other regular season games on the scoreboard such as Washington vs. Chicago. The first photo shown on the back indicates it is a celebration by the Elks (assume Elks Lodge) honoring Joe Dugan. There is a wreath with all the players around. I can easily identify Ruth at the far left of the photo. Upon close inspection, Gehrig is right in front of him. Any help identifying a specific year would be appreciated. I need to find my more powerful magnifying loupe to try to get some more detail off the scoreboard including the starting lineups that are at the top that show the batting order at player number. Below are the photos with some close-ups of the first two.

But really love the field level perspective and the light and shadow! Great images!

Probably July 27 or 28th in 1927...St Louis was at NY and Boston was at Cincy on those dates. You can tell it's Summer from the short sleeves worn by the crowd.

Thanks Dan! Looks like Chicago and Washington also played on those dates and those two teams are also on the scoreboard playing against each other.

Now you just need to look through the NY Times archive to see if they mention a ceremony for Dugan.
