So here is our new, almost :) anything goes chat section. I think it will be great to have a place to post off topic stuff while not being off topic :). There won't be politics or religion discussions but almost anything else goes. I am quite sure that eventually this section will be frequented a bit, if by no one else, than by me....as I sometimes just want to say something to my extended Net54 family that has nothing to do with sports. Thanks again to all of you who were open minded and thanks to those that voted in opposition too. As I had said before, it's always good to get opinions.....(well, almost always, anyway)....best regards

Well, I don't know. I guess we could talk about anything? We could talk about the folks that didn't want this section for some reason? I still will barely ever understand why folks don't want something that neither harms them or affects them in any way whatsoever. I am such a live and let live guy. I guess not everyone is. Heck, if you aren't harming anyone I think you should be able to do whatever you want to, don't you?

I agree Leon. If we had a political section, and I really didn't want it, I just wouldn't open it. It seems simple to me too.

I started a new thread here, I know its cheesy, but its something else I am passionate about besides our beloved hobby. :)

I voted FOR both politics and religion to be open for discussion just because I think folks should have a choice, but I also think that there are those who will take it too far and it could easily spill over onto the main board. Easy to moderate that though IMO.

Hey Dan
I am with you, trust me. But there were so many folks who didn't want the politics (and no one cared about the religion debate) I felt it was better not to have them be topics of discussions. Also, I had some insight from a few other mods on other boards, and they had the same views as what you just said. They said the sentiments did in fact spill over, even if the discussions didn't, and it caused problems. I get quite a few private emails on stuff and many times those help sway a decision too. I also understand the reasoning why some didn't want the section at all, but I am in disagreement on that AND that percentage was very low, no matter how we would have done the poll. I actually think I will like this section quite a bit. I still can't believe there are a few folks like T206collector who think the old s/w was better. To me, that is absolutely unbelievable. Thanks for your help too!! regards
