View Full Version : What would make your 2011?

What one card -- for this thread choose one and only one -- would make your year if you were able to add it to your collection? Let's include a stipulation that it has to be attainable. So unless you've got the coin for something like a T206 Wagner, that can't be your pick.

After giving it some thought, my choice is a Boston Garter Lajoie, shown below (image is from vintagecardprices.com).

What's yours?

Just one? Ah, gee. In similar threads in the past I have stated my wish for a Horner Cabinet Joe Wood to land in my lap but that ain't happening. This year's nominee is a Dormand Postcard Moose Skowron. Never seen one for auction, vcp.com shows no sales, but they made a gazillion Dormands and they are not as ancient as, say, Kalamazoo Bats so there ought to be one out there.

Agree with David... tough to narrow it down to just one, but I'll go with this one. Adding an E107 Chance would make my year.

I need two cards to complete my Old Judge New Jersey subset (all players who were either born in or died in New Jersey) - Buster Hoover and Frank Hankinson.

I would obviously take either, but since I can pick just one...

Good thread. Mine isn't a high dollar item, but does seem tougher than it should be. Chief Meyers w/El Principe back.

I'd really like to cross off at least ONE major Hall of Famer/Star from my Zeenut wantlist in 2011.

Any of the following would do...

1913 Heilmann
1915 Covaleski/Williams/Risberg/McMullen/Heilmann
1916 Claxton/Risberg/Southworth
1918 O'Doul/Crawford
1919 Arbuckle/Vance
1922 Lazzeri
1923 Waner
1924 Cochrane

I need 26 cards to complete 10 sets so picking one is tough, but a 1923-24 Exhibit of Babe Ruth would be awesome.

This is one of the most bizarre cards I have ever seen, Babe Ruth holding a bird, and believe it or not, I love this card. In the condition below, its a price that I have paid for 3 cards in the past (about a grand), so although I cant afford it at this moment, I can hope.

Wish to get my overtime back at work, and ease the weekly struggle. Honestly just to pick up one Hal Chase type or t206 back i do not already have, that would make my 2011.
