This issue is not easy to come by. Right now a common is only in my budget.

A pretty big purchase for a small-budget collector such as myself. Owning a Red Sox Ruth card was an item on my bucket list. I prefer to call the card crease-free instead of slightly trimmed. Thanks to everyone on the BST forum.

I'm pleased to announce the completion of a 200-card T207 set, plus a few variations. It took 3 years, and was helped by many net54 friends (especially Mike F., Rob, Marc, Mac, Brian, Scott, David). The set is listed on: http://www.psacard.com/PSASetRegistry/alltimeset.aspx?s=71996. The last card was Irv Lewis, from Ebay this week. Ron R

Thanks, guys. It was fun to put it together, and I have to give kudos to Leon & Net54. A large and tough set, like T207, is nearly impossible to put together without networking with other collectors. Net54 is a great way to do that.

BTW, why is Arlie Latham in the T207 set? He was 53 years old, and a former coach by then and hadn't played in a game since 1909. Just another weird thing about T207.

I had about 2 more mos. but didn't want to sweat it. Also, since postcards aren't my niche I made a quicker decision. Had this been a T231 or another regular type card, I would have disliked it even more and taken longer to make the decision. Thanks Ralph! My only concern is the top. I'm afraid it might get a MC qualifier.

Not sure if anyone had responded to this yet, but I believe you can specify whether to not permit a qualifier. In that case, PSA might downgrade the number by as much as 2 points. However, with crossovers you can specify a minimum grade. So if it's important enough for you to convert a SGC into a PSA, then you can protect yourself with the grade as long as you're willing to chance the submission fee.

I've read somewhere in the past that the MC (and MK) qualifiers can't be withheld by request. Is this not the case?

From the FAQ on PSA's website:
Q: Can I request “No Qualifiers” on my submission?
A: You can make this request and it could mean that the original grade may lower. Also, while you may request no qualifiers on your submission, it is up to the discretion of our graders to determine if the qualifier can be removed. The qualifier can not be left off in all instances and no refund will be given if we determine that we can not remove the qualifier.

My understanding is that if the qualifier is egregious, then they can't ignore it simply by demoting the overall grade (eg, a miscut that cuts off part of the card's main image or includes a large proportion of another card, or a strongly visible stamp on the back of a card), but that more subtle ones (eg an OC qualifier) might be able to be avoided by demoting the card's overall grade.

btw, gorgeous Johnson Hindu.
