Since I collect baseball CdVs, I thought it would be nice to see some early images. Here's one of mine.

I don't think we'll see too many baseball dags- other than the three known of Alexander Cartwright, there aren't any.

Richard's team ambrotype is one of the best early photos in the hobby!

Very nice images everybody.

Those bats in Richard's ambro look more like 2x4's! Beautiful!

I hadn't seen that CDV before Jimmy. Interesting. Still has a touch of the civil war in it.

Thanks for the posts. I love to see early images.
I agree with Barry. The ambrotype is about as good as it gets.

Hope it is ok to include a Magic Lantern Slide?:) Wish I could figure something out on this image.... I have searched & searched, but this has been the toughest for me yet. I do not think the who, what, where will ever be determined on this picture. I am fairly certain that the letters on the uniforms are "WAC", just not sure what order the letters are suppose to be in? Anyway, it's a really nice image.... Even better in person, but it is really difficult to take a nice clear picture of. Does anyone know of another Baseball Lantern Slide from this time period??????

The second picture is the opposing side of the Lantern Slide (imaged is reversed)

Shawn

(edited last picture out as it was only a big blur)
