I hate the larger market teams, so im rooting for Tampa Bay in the AL, though I always admire Minnesota and their true fundamental approach to the game, plus I have to root for Jim Thome :)
In the NL Im pulling for the Giants partially because of my man love for Buster Posey and my favorite journeyman Aubery Huff.
Who are you folks cheering for?

Yankees, cuz EVERYONE in both my family and my wife's side of the family are all Sox fans.
NL? Phillies I guess.
I enjoy seeing domination :)

I fear the Padres "smoke and mirrors" show is over, but maybe San Diego can sneak back into first.
If the Padres can get into the playoffs, I hope a "different" team can win...Cincinnati, Texas, Minnesota.
Philadelphia scares me. They haven't played well all year and have been banged up a lot and are still in first place!

Rooting for a repeat of the 1962 World Series. Maybe they'll even give Willie McCovey a do-over.:)

I'm hoping for the Twins, They're my de-facto contender team as a Cubs fan.
I wouldn't mind seeing the Rays do it though. I get this feeling that it's now or never for them.
I'm hoping the Reds win it all after 9 straight losing seasons (that and I live here :) ), but I just don't think they have the starting pitching to match up in a playoff series with the other teams. :(

Since the Cardinals have completely forgotten what winning is I guess I'll pull for Reds, at least they have two ex-Cardinals on the team.

Go Twins, Long live Harmon Killebrew!!

We have at least three ex-Cardinals on the team (Miguel Cairo, Scott Rolen and Jim Edmonds) so you will have to pull for the Reds even harder! :D

AL: Red Sox - we can still make it in.
NL: San Diego. I would really like to see them go all the way (that is if the Sox don't ;)).

looks like the Sox season is mercifully over. Big buck pitchers lackey and Beckett = bigtime failures this season. Certainly the team was overwhelmed by injuries and such, but overally very disappointing given the amount of money and expectation.
Giants in the NL are like the little engine that could, love that rotation!
Congrats to the Reds for a stellar season and first playoff birth in a longtime.
Same can be said for the Rangers, thought hey better get Josh Hamilton fixed up right quick.

Yankee fan, although I think this might be the Phillies year.
Halladay/Oswalt/Hamels along with their dangerous offense is going to be the best pitching/hitting combo in the playoffs.

Hey guys,
I've been rooting for the Phillies for nearly 40 years, and boy have I seen some stinker teams!
This current core group is built for a winner, a mini-dynasty if you will and I couldn't be happier. I know that once the Howard, Utley, Rollins core gets a bit older and slower, the Phillies could take 20 years to build up again....I hope not, but I've sure seen it!
Go Phillies!!:)

wow, impressive start to the playoffs from Texas! Cliff Lee (7 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 10 K, 0 BB) stepped up, but lets see if the rest of the Rangers staff can continue to roll.

Hope everybody is glued to Roy Halladay right now- he's got a no-hitter through eight innings and looks untouchable.

Halladay = amazing! Wish I had been able to see it.
Great 1st day of playoffs!

Anyone see Brooks Conrad make his 3rd error of the game which gave the Giants the lead and eventual win?? He looked like he wanted to crawl into a hole...Braves miss Prado.
I'm guessing if anyone blinked they missed that the Reds even made it this year. :(

The Phils pitching staff is filthy. The scary part is that I don't even think they clicked on offense that series, and still won rather easily.

I think the Giants staff equals the Phillies staff. This series may be filled with a lot of 1-0 and 2-1 games.

No argument here. The only thing is if the Reds hadn't done everything to beat themselves in game 2 and came back here with the series tied 1-1, would it have made a difference? Probably not since they lost game 3 anyway and I'm guessing they would have lost to Halladay again in game 4, but it's always fun to wonder what could have been...

GO GIANTS!
Ahem.
It sure seems like longer than 7 years since our last playoff appearance, so we SF fans are really enjoying this one. Love this matchup with the Phillies. Old franchises, classic uni's, nice ballparks, stellar pitching. Should be good.

Waiver wire pickup Cody Ross powers the Giants to victory! And they beat Halladay, go figure!
Even better, the Yankees lost :)

There's an unusual situation that could occur in this post season: Bengie Molina started the season with San Francisco and was traded to Texas in July. It's certainly possible that the Giants and Rangers will face each other in the World Series. Therefore, Molina would have played for both of those teams in the same year.
How unusual is it for a player to have been a member of both World Series participants in one season? I assume it's happened before, but I'm not sure. And of course it has happened yet.

Congrats to the the Texas Rangers!! What an incredible year for this franchise. They were technically bankrupt, yet emerged in the second half of the year with new ownership led my Texas HOF'er and pitching legend Nolan Ryan. Snatching key players Vlady Guerrrero, Cliff Lee and Benjie Molina were master strokes of genius by the Rangers' GM Jon Daniels.
They played with a sense of urgency and left the New York Yankees eating their dust!
I completely respect the pitching staffs of the Giants and the Phillies, but I sense a possible upset in this years World Series!
I predict the Texas Rangers in 6 or 7 games!!
Go Rangers!

As a Yankee fan I am of course very disappointed. However, I think the best team won. The Rangers made the Yankees look very old by running around the bases on them. Their starting pitching flat out was better then ours. And when we were down, our middle relief could not hold it for us in a couple of the games. Hats off to Ryan/Greenberg, Jon Daniels, Ron Washington and The Texas Rangers. They will be a handful for whoever they face in the WS..

Read an article that he would get a 3/4 share from one team $ wise and a 1/2 share from the other team. 125% share lol. good for him.
GO GIANTS!
Hell yeah, great job Giants, looking forward to another tuff series! Had to abondon the TV for the radio in the 9th! Torture! :D

both aces were less than stellar, but the rangers played awful, far too many mistakes, errors and base running blunders!

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and predict that the Giants will win this one.
Poor Washington Senators. They can never seem to win anything meaningful.
