No, this is not a thread where we can rant or rave about the pros and cons of hunting. If you didn't get that out of your system yet you can take it elsewhere...

I was just looking at all the pictures of old ball players hunting and I thought some were quite interesting and fun. Its a kick to see ball players off the ball field and in the woods. So this is simply a fun thread where you can post pictures of ballplayers hunting. I just think its an interesting look into their personal lives.

The guy holding the gun up in the air looks like Cobb, any other ball players in this pic?

The Georgia Peach with Tris Speaker on the right ? Also, it appears Joe has the gun aimed right at his chin!

Okay fishing pics are fun too.

Monarchs pictured, from left to right, are: Newt Allen (from Austin, TX), Joe Greene (Stone Mountain, GA), Jack Matchett (Palestine, TX), and Rainey Bibbs (Henderson, KY) enjoyed a little fishing between games.

Cobb seemed to like dogs more than people.

Does anyone have that PC of Cy Young hunting that they could post here?

That first pic is definitely of Ty Cobb and Tris Speaker. In fact, another variation of the image was issued by the Elliot News Service as such. Their stamp is at lower right printed in the photo:

Here are the 1908 Brooklyn Dodgers on elephants, although they probably didn't "hunt" them down:

This photo is of three New York Giants players -- George Burns, Jess Barnes and Benny Kauff -- and their wives "investigating the mysteries of the alligator" at a farm near the team's San Antonio Spring Training camp in 1920.

It's an INternational News Photo from the Baseball Magazine archive:

Not the clearest scan but the photo is framed. It's a picture of Joe Wood after a rabbit hunt in Kansas. Joe's in the dark sweater with his Boston sweater on.
