1919 Zeenut is his earliest card but it is Minor League - (P-Rookie)

1924 Diaz Cigarettes is his earliest Major League card - (Rookie)

Somewhere out there is most likely a 1912 York (Nebraska State League) real photo team postcard...the earliest item I have seen of Vance is a 1914 Hastings (Nebraska State League) composite photo.

I own a Superior (Also Neb State League) pocket mirror, but I don't know if it's 1913 or if Vance is on it.

Phil, I don't have a copy of it...a guy over on the Game Used forums owns it. Unfortunately it was not for sale.

Got it, thanks, Dan.

By the way, here's my 1915 Vance photo as part of the Pittsburgh Pirates team composite from Spring Training of that season (Vance is second row down, second from left)..........

Very cool...Ol' Dazzy looked like an old man from birth I think.

I went over to the GU forum and tried to search for "Hastings", but I guess we never discussed it publicly. I saw the photo of it when Clint H. told me to click on the guy's website listed in his signature...I tried to save a copy of the photo, but the left/click thingy was disabled on his website so you couldn't copy any of his photos. Wish I could remember the guy's name.

What makes this Pittsburgh piece so interesting is that Dazzy pitched in exactly one game (his Major League debut) for the Pirates in April, 1915 and then never played another game for Pittsburgh in his career. Pretty amazing that a photo of him in a Pirates uniform even exists IMHO.
