Crap... I posted on the wrong thread. Will post again on your other "Lamp" thread, but can't see how to delete the photos I already posted here. Oh well...

Congrats on your nice acquisitions!

I really didn't expect to find much in the way of Indians memorabilia but came away pleasantly surprised. Shown first below is a 1950s kids T-shirt, in the orginal wrapping and adorned with the fabulous Chief Wahoo. I love stuff like this.

Second is a 1960s lighter with the Chief on it, pictured beside a dated 1949 pin that supposedly was given away as a Ladies Day souvenir. I already had a pin (and this was the third time I had heard the Ladies Day theory), but this one is in such great shape I couldn't pass on it. Plus, they're fairly tough to come by.

Finally, a 1940 Wheaties box with Bob Feller on the back. I've always wanted a complete vintage Wheaties box that has a tie-in with the Tribe, and this fits the bill.

All in all, a fun trip to Baltimore.

Here are my National and pre National pick ups. The show was good, both buying and selling. I met a ton of people that I have talked to over the years and its always great to meet them in person.

Only cruised the floor for 1 day (Saturday), with my 11 year old son in tow. Made the mistake of hitting the Rogers Archive last when my son was getting antsy, but picked up a couple of nice shots nonetheless. Also was able to score a few early Yankees programs to fill holes in my collection. Most importantly, my son had a blast & I even got him started with a few items for a vintage collection of his own. Considering it was a last-minute decision to go, I neither came loaded for bear cash-wise nor spent all I had, but was still pleased with the outcome.

Spent all day Friday waking the aisles and bought two things and won one piece from "PressPass" cards:

1) Trophy Ball 1908 Georgetown vs Maryland.
2) Old National League / Coca Cola promotional baseball.
3) Won this Dale Earnhart 1/1 Artifact "Race-Used Firesuit" during late day drawing. I rarely ever win anything!

All in all, a fun day - Ray

KILLER shot of Rolfe!! It's interesting how dark his uniform appears in that photo - so dark, it almost seems like an away pinstriper!

Did you find it in the Rogers collection?

Yes, that's exactly where I found it.

As for the "KILLER shot," it wasn't even something that I was looking for. The other two photos above were more along the line of what I was after, but I came across the Rolfe in one of the Yankes binders, and kept being drawn back to it. After the 4th or 5th time going back to it I realized that it was getting ridiculous and just grabbed it.

I'm a bit late posting my pickups from the national, as I have just gotten around to unpacking. I had a great time at the national; I setup for this one, splitting a booth with a friend of mine who is a long time memorabilia dealer (our booth was the eclectic booth Greg mentioned in his photos). I really enjoyned talking with some fellow net54ers, and many different memorabilia collectors. I picked up an Eagles piece that has eluded me for the past 10 years, a beautiful Black faced toes up nodder - I need the square based black face and a promo to complete my Eagles nodder collection. I also picked up several early football pieces including several pieces to add to my small Carlisle Indians collection. The first piece is a circa 1890's Melon football, with a makers mark that I can't quite make out. Then I picked up a Carlisle Indians fish tail pennant with a great image of an Indian looking football player. I actually bid on this pennant on ebay about a year ago, but lost out. I then picked up two Carlisle programs, a 1906 vs Harvard, and a 1910 vs Brown. Lastly, I picked up a Blacksmiths Shop Carlisle Indians Football team cabinet photo. I already have a Shoemakers shop team photo, so I had to pickup the Blacksmiths when I saw it. These shop teams competed amongst eachother, with the best players also playing on the varsity team. Jim Thorpe played for the Tailorshop during his time at Carlisle.

Keith, incredible stuff! Is that Pete or Emil Hauser? Emil Hauser was also known by his Indian name of Waseca (some publications list his name as Emil Wauseka). He played baseball for Green's Nebraska Indians in 1906. He broke his foot in Kentucky and had to stay behind. A young lady was taking care of him and was paying him so much attention it made her husband jealous and Hauser had to get out of town quickly.

A rare ball in any condition, this 1918 ONL with YMCA stamp is in immaculate sealed condition. I've never seen another boxed example. Note that the president's seal is unmarked denoting that it is between the Tener and the Heydler presidencies.

Thanks Dan, I didn't realize Hauser played for the Nebraska Indians - pretty cool. I believe Hauser was one of the two guys (the other being Joe Libby) that traveled to play minor league baseball with Jim Thorpe during their time at Carlisle, which ultimately resulted in Thorpe being later stripped of his Olympic medals.
