Will anyone be posting regularly from the National this year for those of us who cannot attend? Happenings, photos, member hook-ups, fist fights, sissy fights and the like? Just curious and thanks!

I'm sure we will know what's going on within minutes. It's the internet age.

I will have my Iphone, Camera and laptop on hand. Some of the stories I have heard and the people we meet will be interesting to say the least.

Can't wait I will be leaving in the morning. We should Start a thread called 2010 National Headlines on wednesday. It can be like TMZ for us cardboard junkies. :D

Please let me know if anyone sees any. I am willing to offer a little spending cash to anyone who can help facilitate any additions to my collection.

Personally I still use a Big Chief and Crayolas. If you know what I am talking about bless your heart and pass the gravy. I don't think I can upload the images though :p.

A couple of years ago one of the board members did a great job videoing the Convention, showing collectors and also many of the glass topped displays with the cards in them. Hopefully either he (sorry can't remember who it was) or someone else will do something like that again. I know some collectors weren't thrilled about being filmed while talking about cards or life in general but many of us really enjoyed it. It may still be on you tube, not sure.

A Confederacy of Dunces is one of the funniest books ever. Big Chief tablets figure prominently.

Leon seems more socially adept than Ignatius, though.

:) Had plenty of each but my mom would never spring for the box of 64 crayons with the built in sharpener. She would say, "Boys don't use Fuschia." She had a point. Thanks mom!

When I was a kid, circa 1960, the box of 24 or 48 was alright...but the box of 64 with the sharpener was a schoolyard status symbol. If you had one of those, the other kids were envious.

The box of 48 was stubby, but the box of 64 was built like a cadillac...long and spacious.

Barry,

When you're typing the reply, there is a tool bar at the top of the box. This enables you to change fonts, change type size, change colors, insert smilies :), make your type bold, put it in italics, underline it, etc.

The last icon on the right is ABC.

Highlight the words you want to cross out. (Click at the beginning of the word. Hold the button down while moving the cursor. Let it up at the end of the word.) Then, while the word is highlighted, click on the ABC box.

Edited to add: Use "Post Reply," not "Quick Reply."

My first stop when I get to the show is to the Memory Lane booth to check out the two sales reps, who are handing out flyers.

There are thousands of places on the web offering free smilies (or emoticons.)

Matt,

I believe the "Parking" ones were only usable in Ohio.

I vote that next year, we chip in and fly Barry to Chicago, to do a daily blog, and maybe even a podcast, from the floor of the show. (Barry, think "Live Remote" for the radio, but only on the internet.)

He could also "fill time" by roaming the floor and pointing out the spelling errors on the thousands of hand made signs adorning the booths.

Pointing out spelling errors doesn't go over as well in person as it does on an internet forum.

Actually, it seems to me that Barry has become far too kind and lets most spelling mistakes go these days.

The mistakes are still there. They still bother him. But he's willing to look the other way and wait for Rob, Peter, or myself, to be the asshat. (You know... my sorted friends.)

I'll take a shot at this. Barry, Podcasts are like Vaudeville, but with audience members so tiny you can't see them while you're performing. But don't worry, they're there.
