From Peter Horvitz, who wrote The Big Book of Jewish Baseball

"This note is to announce to you my discovery of a new addition to the list of Jewish baseball players who played in the Major Leagues. This player is Fred (Frederick) Gottlieb Graf or Graff, who played 4 games with the St. Louis Browns at 3rd base in 1913. This discovery was made through correspondence with the daughter of a Jewish minor league player whose father was friends with Graf. The discovery was confirmed when I found that Graf is buried in a Jewish cemetery in Chattanooga.

Sincerely yours,
Peter S. Horvitz,
Author The Big Book of Jewish Baseball "

Perhaps the discovery should have been made sooner? From baseball reference.
Buried: Mizpah Cemetery, Chattanooga, TN

From the web:
Established in 1866 by the Hebrew Benevolent Association, Mizpah Congregation Cemetery became the first Jewish cemetery in Chattanooga , serving the congregation whose name it bears.

How do you know that this info wasn't added to Baseball Reference after the author mentioned above made the discovery?

Alan,

Can Peter inquire as to whether they have a better photo than this one?
