On Ebay, there is a suspicious seller with 0 feedback, and one of those funny stories (about ex-husband leaving cards), selling a 1914 Cracker Jack Ty Cobb in PSA 6 (along w/ other cards). Do you think this is worth a bid and possibly getting the card at a good price? If the seller turns out to be bogus, perhaps there would be Ebay Buyer Protection?

" i am pretty dumb on stuff like this"

Funny how they always plead ignorance of the subject, but somehow, by chance, manage to put up the Cobbs, Ruths, DiMaggios and similar for sale. Nary a common in sight.

She must be a real winner. She was born in 1990. 20 years old and her husband left her already.

When I see something like that I always try to contact the seller by phone. I can get a better idea of whats going on that way. I have found alot of great deals on ebay like that. Theres no harm in trying. This one seemed bogus because she left. If she was legit the card would probably not go cheap anyway because of the grade. All of the great deals I've got were raw cards from unknown sellers.

In the future just ask for their #. Their story will unravel over the phone if its made up.

Why do I get the impression that she dances at the Bottoms Up Club and knows more about a stripper's pole than a foul pole?

Another card "she" is selling is a 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth. Take a look at the provenance of this card as talked about on the PSA website back in June.

http://forums.collectors.com/messagepost.cfm?postaction=reply&catid=11&threadid=775804&messid=8940672&STARTPAGE=1&ezquote=y&parentid=8940672

The consensus there is that the case has been tampered.

It is funny but if you look at her completed auctions, someone "bought" the 1914 Cobb on June 30 for $1,000 dollars using the Buy It Now feature. Then, a few days later, it was relisted.

She has closed and relisted some of these cards a few times.

Something REALLY fishy going on here especially since she is selling graded cards of Hall of Fame players. You know, like a PSA 9 Red Heart Mickey Mantle, a PSA 8 1957 Topps Mantle, a PSA 7 1954 Topps Aaron and a PSA 7 1948 Leaf Joe DiMaggio.

I think the only way an ex-husband left these cards and didn't come back for them was 1) he was arrested and is now in prison or 2) because he was killed and his body disposed of.

Look at this card and then at the seller's other listings.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-1915-Cracker-Jack-E145-2-57-WALTER-JOHNSON-/280531416627?cmd=ViewItem&pt=US_Baseball&hash=item4150f9b633

The cards all have an odd creasing to them. Almost like the card bunched up as it was feeding through the printer or something? Very odd. To me they look printed, colors faded and yet some of the cards are really crisp with that odd creasing.

And the seller hasn't sold anything since 2006 and yet has 7 big money cards ending within a week. Looks like a "take the money and run scenario" to me.

We could have a contest to see how many things one can find wrong with that photo. That she's pregnant and smoking a cigarette is a good starting point. And flip-flops with a wedding gown is a nice fashion statement.

And wearing white for purity at your wedding, all the while being very preggo, makes a nice statement too.

Good.

Also, if that is the case, then they should ALSO go after the person who sold the 1915 Cracker Jack Walter Johnson. After two years of inactivity, they have either sold or currently have a bunch of fake Hall of Famers listed right now and are getting pretty decent money for them.

Edited to add the eBay seller is "goodfind4u" and they are from Ohio.
