Went to the Yanks Game last night and got to See Pettitte's 200th Win.

I havn't been to the museum since last year. I walked in to check it out again. and found that they re-did everything. It has all new stuff from last year! So I took a bunch of pics. For those who haven't seen the museum it is impressive. Take a look at some of the stuff they have:

1st a look at the remains of the old yankee stadium..

I'm not an expert, but when I was in the museum last year every single signed ball looked to me to be stamped. I didn't think any of them were actually signed.

Very cool pics. I hope they keep Upper Deck away from those jersey's and bats!

None of the vintage stuff belongs to the Yankees. It's all loaned.

Ok so I'm a Sox fan. But I think the light up sign was a very cool idea, and if the getting in trouble didn't involve police or being tossed out was probably well worth it.:)

It they had the same thing at Fenway I'd probaly use a simiar message.

I know it's all for the best, but the teams making things too "family friendly" Takes a bit of the edge off the rivalry. The fans are even too nice to the other team these days. I recall seeing a rookie Yankees player go into the stands after a ball at Fenway and exiting the mob without the ball. Also without his hat and glove, and nearly without his jersey. Umps and security got the glove back, but not the hat. And likewise the Sox players knew to keep clear of the crowds at Yankee Stadium.

Hey Steve..

Yea thanks.. I thought it was a funny idea. I just got scolded by one of the guards. Then they were giving me the stair down until I left the museum. All in good fun though. A bunch familys around thought it was funny too and wanted to take pics with that sign.
So no major trouble.

great stuff, Jamie, thanks for posting...i'm going to the game thursday also...then i'll be at Fenway saturday (first ever game for me, there).

i own the home plate used 9/18/08, so it's cool to see the 9/21/08 plate on display there (was also used on opening day 2009).

p.s. the Ruth & Gehrig jerseys are off the charts.

That McGraw sweater is really cool, though it belongs in the Mets Museum, the rightful heirs to the Giants franchise.... Oh yeah, the Mets sold all their memorabilia...

I have never been to Yankee Stadium but I have to agree with you. As a huge fan of history, imagine all the greats that walked on that field (In either the old or remodeled stadium) and the history that has been bulldozed under. The least they could have done was do like they did in Milwaukee. They built a little league field where the infield of County Stadium once stood. At least that was history can be revisited in some way!

Such unjustified cynicism. They are going to put several ball fields on the footprint of the old stadium. The soccer/football field you see in the photo below is already there. You'll be able to stand where the greats stood on an actual baseball field....

You can read about it here:

Soccer? Did you say Sccoer on holy Baseball ground? I tried watching the World Cup when USA played and I wanted to gouge out my eyes with a spoon! What is up with the sound? It's like there is a bee's nest next to the microphone.

Standing on some newly planted and freshly created field isn't the same as standing where the greats stood. Isn't Ebbets Field an apartment building now? I wouldn't get much satisfaction out of living above first base.

You guys are either blind or have never been to Yankee Stadium. The soccer field is on top of the parking garage in between the two stadiums, the new one and the old one. There are 3 baseball fields in the place where the old stadium was -- including a big one, right on top of where the old infield was. That is, you will be able to stand in the same batters box and look at the same home plate, in terms of location vis-a-vis the entire universe, and see a baseball field with the Bronx Courthouse in the distance.

Yes soccer is horrible, heaven forbid kids actually get some exercise. I never have the problem of wanting to gouge my eyes out with a spoon when baseball is on since I am asleep.

Ah, yes - the vuvuzela. Apparently, the locals are exceptionally enamored with them. Must be an acquired taste.

A local radio station said today that earlplugs, not jerseys or t-shirts are the hottest selling item at the stadium!

The sound at Yankee Stadium is great... they're talking about the sound in South Africa for the World Cup.

You thought the sound at the stadium was great? Every time I'm there I can't hear anything. My only complaint about the stadium has been its sound.

Funny... What's the extreme opposite of deaf? The usual complaint is that sound escapes the new stadium more than the old, so the crowd noise isn't as loud. At least that was the "big sound debate" in the 2009 post-season.
