Not sure where I am going with this but thought it should be acknowledged . . .
Today in baseball history: May 30, 1935 - Babe Ruth plays only the first inning of the opener of a doubleheader between Boston and Philadelphia at Baker Bowl‚ going 0-for-1. It is his final ML appearance.

Last pitcher to face Ruth is one Jim Bivin, 17 years in the minors with a cup of coffee-and-a-refill with the Phils in '35. No cards that I could find. (Bivin's stats: http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/b/bivinji01.shtml )

Thanks for noting this anniversary, David. I wonder how many of today's players we'll...oops, THEY'll...be talking about 75 years from now?

"75 years ago today, Hall of Famer, St. Louis Cardinals 1st Baseman, Albert Pujols hits 3 homeruns, for the 4th time in his major league career, in a 9-1 Victory over the Cards' Long-time rival Chicago Cubs..."

Just a possibility!

Gee...a perfect game, too...I sure picked the wrong week to make my point, didn't I!
