Any idea what set this is from? It is blank-backed and measures 4"x 5&3/8". Picked up at a flea market in some paper stuff and was also wondering value?

Thanks-
Claude

I love those things! That is near the top of my list of what to do next.

I'm working slowly on this group. I have 17 so far. Interesting variety of poses.

Jeff,
That is a pretty one. Have those of you that have worked on this set run across anything more difficult than the rest (not including $$ amounts, just difficulties finding them)?
As always, thanks,
Bob

looks like the rare 'lipstick & blush' version (joke).

I'm not familiar at all with this set, so the only thing I can add is that last year a guy walked into the Veterans show in Columbus OH and had a complete set for sale. A dealer ended up buying the set.

It was the first time I ever got to look at these cards close up. I took a long look and the gears started to grind, but that damn Monster began whispering in my ear, so I walk away.

I think some of the photos used to make these cards were taken by George Burke. Not 100% sure about that though.

I've always assumed these were produced by National Chicle, but I met a guy at last weekend's Cow Palace show who had most of a set and he insisted they were made by Goudey. I did a quick search on Google and discovered that some collectors consider them National Chicles and others believe they're Goudeys. What's the real story?
