Wow! A Prince Oana autograph. I did a lengthy feature on him many years ago in SCD, but never found an autograph to use for illustration.

Here's another one for you, Bob. I acquired these photos from Robert Klevens a while back. I would love to read your SCD article if it is available in print or online. Please let me know.

Hello David,

Sorry to report that most of my "Bleacher Bum" columns and feature articles are not readily available. SCD has never been digitized, so it's not available on-line.

And, like a fool, when I left the company in May, 2006, I left behind my personal binder of columns, etc., and it has vanished.

The only source is the hard copies of SCD . . . and even they are not indexed to any extent.

No pic, but I once had a 1930s Portland Beavers pro model hat that belonged to Babe Herman. Herman played in the PCL, but not for the Beavers. A guess is he exchanged hats with an opponent or something like that. There was no auction claim that it was game used, just a genuine PCL hat. It came from his estate auction and had a provenance letter from his daughters and letter from MEARS.

Herman had a lot of interesting collectibles from his playing days, including signed snapshot photos of his teammates (fair assumption he also shot the photots), lots of vintage team signed balls from the PCL and other minor league teams, and a few game used items of teammates, including game used Reds hat. It appeared he was a bit of a collector himself.
