My pleasure D., as soon as I found it I was excited to send it your way. That image belongs to the Burton Collection at the Detroit Public Library. You should be able to go and view it in person and see if the original has as much glare as the image I found. If not, you might want to consider paying the Library for a better scan, something you could make a print of and frame.

That photo jarred my memory of a very cool photo that closed a little over a month ago on eBay, of a Los Angeles police baseball team. It was ravaged but I sort of wish I'd have gotten involved now. It's 14 1/2" by 18 3/4" size was what I liked about it most.

I plan on going to the library to see it and see if they have any other info on the team. My wife was teasing me about being a kid again when I showed her the photo. My son is a professional photographer and he is going to try and clean it up for me. Thanks again for sending the site. D.

I'm a Los Angeles Police Officer and Manager of our LAPD Baseball Team. We have been playing competitive baseball dating as far back as 1887 or further. I'm seeking memorabilia, photos, articles, etc. related to LAPD. in the late 1800's we were called the Police Nine. Later we were called LA Police or LAPD. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Our history is precious and great stories about our team are yet to be told! I have articles dating back to 1887, but photos and memorabilia would be the key! Thank you in advance for any assistance. The Police Officers that played back then and now would be honored!

Dynarl and Joe G.,

Way to go, I think I worked with some of those guys....just kidding, not quite that old yet. I am a retired DPD and envy those finds. Joe G. where on earth did you find that photo???

That picture of the LAPD Baseball team is in a 1905 newspaper article I archived a year ago! I'm seeking that and more photos a memorabilia for LAPD Baseball. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am the manager of our current team and we have been playing competitive charity baseball across the country for the past 15 years.

We were lucky enough to find the ball at my local auction. My wife's family has a police background. The picture is my wife's Great Grampa Damron with the Detroit Police Department. She had the winning bid and gave the ball to me. The scan of the ribbon was sent to me by a member and Joe found the picture of the Detroit team at the Detroit library. I have seen another ribbon from another year. I believe it was a yearly event at one time. I would just like to know the score of the game:D

Too pricey to take a chance on but I've always wondered if this wasn't part of the police game.

Clint I seen that and thought the same about the price. The two I've seen have had police on them.
