That looks real to me!

EDIT: It appears that he has selected reprint on the auction. The PSA case it is in is very convincing.

I like how the guy cropped out the psa logo on the top. totally bogus.

The PSA case tipped me off. Wow I missed that one...

The auction isn't legit.

Is the PSA case an optical illusion then or is it fit in that case? How could it have gotten in it?

I would guess that he probably stole the image...

Great point on covering the top of the holder.

But, why would he go so far as to say it is grade a "2" and such?

Who would cover the holder on a card like that? If I really owned that card & really was selling it, I would be proud to show the holder, but that's me. The color in the background should be more of an orange instead of yellowish tone it has & the type in the name & team appears to be darker than it should.

You can get a reprint graded.

I just got an email back and the guy stated that the card was made to look old and is for sure a reprint. As far as the holder I never asked.

Why on earth are reprints being graded? Only bad things can come from that.

Under the item specifics it says "Card Attributes: Piece of Authentic" whatever the heck that means. These type of auctions are certainly a piece of something. ;)

That is one scrary looking T206 reprint and I'm not talking about Don Mossi.....cannot be good for the hobby.

As much as we love this hobby, there seems to be more and more outright thievery every day from fake Cards w stolen images and fake holders, to the proliferation of forgeries all over the autograph world, to peons cutting up bats/jerseys and chopping up signatures to fit on a dumb card, or putting forgeries on the card. Makes you kinda cynical, Id say?

I just started getting cards (I did it as a kid, buying one pack of Topps at a time) again, mostly 1930's and earlier. I am stunned at how much deception goes on with it. It's almost a shame that some cards have so much value they attract the counterfeit element. But anyway, this is a great forum, I will definitely run suspicious-looking eBay auctions through here when I come across them.

Simple, it's a revenue stream. Albeit I can't imagine a very large one.
