Have you seen this scam before? Stolen pics or counterfeit cards? Seller only accepts cash or checks

Someone's Getting Scammed Tonight
No doubt about it. It was listed last night, a 24 hour auction. Not much you can do about it except hope that the two guys bidding it up are stewpdazzo and ibuyfakecards.

Perhaps I am out of the pricing loop, but isn't $7,600 incredibly high for a PSA2 Goudey Ruth even it it was real and in a 3 month auction?

Help us with less experience. Other than zero feedback and cash only, what are the red flags that I'm missing?

I reported these to eBay soon after they were listed.

You hit on two of the biggest.

1- Zero feedback
2- Cash only
3- 24 hour auction for such a high end card
4- Different color background (behind slab) leads me to suspect stolen image
5- If you were to sell a $120k+ card (Ruth M101-5 in a PSA 8), does this sound like the way you would do it?

So, more than likely stolen scans rather than fake cards?

I am sorry, but anybody stupid enough (and there are a few buyers) to bid in such an auction, deserves the MORONS OF THE YEAR AWARD.
They are so stupid they almost deserve what will happen to them.
Sorry to vent, but some people are just too damn stupid.--

Stolen scan. Front is from Mastro's auction (April 2004). Back pic is from an REA auction (2008) Lot #151 which actually featured a PSA 7 M101 Ruth. Thus, this scammer is banking on a check for payment. NO SOUP FOR YOU if paying in person!

Took me 30 seconds. Just google "1915 m101", select images only and it's item #001 and #003 in the images screen.

Lovely Day...

This scammer is just plain lazy, he doesn't deserve $7,600 bucks. Here is the T206 Cobb.

Yes. Stolen scans. I have no reason to believe that the M101 Ruth shown in the scan is anything but authentic. As an aside, I don't think he/she was "auctioning" anything other than the M101. It seems that the other pics were intended for marketing other auctions - as far as I can tell.
