I pitched a No-Hitter, striking out 15 batters.

I threw a 63 yard pass in the closing seconds of a FB game to win it for my team.
Pete Rozelle was there and said...."it was one of the most amazing FB games that
he ever saw".

HINT....as a kid, growing up out west, my favorite BB player was Lou Gehrig.

I signed my Major League BB contract during WWII.

I am a member of the BB Hall of Fame........Who am I ?

From a quick google

It was Duke's tremendous throwing arm that entranced the college football scouts. Against Long Beach Poly, the score was 19-13 against Compton when Duke faded back and threw a 63-yard pass for a last-minute 20-19 win

Rich K....googled answers don't count :)

Mike Healer's...." wild guess... " was the 1st correct answer. He is the Trivia King tonite.

Pete Rozelle was a classmate of Duke Snider (at Compton HS, CA). I thought Pete's reflection of
that game......"it was one of the most amazing FB games that he ever saw" ......really tells a lot
of the Duke's all-sport athleticism.

The No-Hitter that Snider pitched was his very 1st game as a pitcher (it was against Berkeley HS
in 1944).

When the Duke first put on his Dodger uniform in the Spring of 1947, he requested # 4, in honor
of Lou Gehrig.

This one was too easy....but, at least I didn't get the usual griping that my quiz was "too cryptic" :)

Ted, the question was too cryptic. How were we to know that Pete Rozelle was a classmate of the Duke and how were we to know....

just kidding! :D
