Though not uncommon, your stub for the CFL's infamous "Ice Bowl" has some historic value. The '77 Grey Cup game was played outdoors at Montreal's Olympic Stadium in the midst of a horrific ice storm that completely paralyzed the city. The retractable roof for the stadium, which was supposed to be ready for the previous summer's Olympic Games, was still in storage in Paris, France. To make matters worse, the city was also in the midst of a massive transit strike, so the fact that more than 68,000 fans made it out to the game between the hometown Alouettes and the Edmonton Eskimos was incredible.

From the opening kickoff, the frozen turf made it look more like a hockey game than football until Alouettes defensive back Tony Proudfoot came up with a brilliant solution. Spotting a stadium electrician with a staple gun on his belt, Proudfoot convinced the guy to shoot staples into the rubber cleats on his boots in order to improve traction. It worked so well that the other Montreal players quickly followed suit, and they were able to run roughshod over the Eskimos for the rest of the afternoon, winning 41-6.

Like I said, the stub is not uncommon — but the story that goes along with it makes it more interesting than most Grey Cup stubs. I'd put a value of $20-$25 on it.
