Help w/this catchers/umpires mask?

Hey guys...I picked this mask up today at a nearby antiques mall. I love the shape of the cage...and the softness of the leather...and it fits my head like a glove. Can anyone tell me if this is a catchers/umpires mask and the approximate age? Any help is appreciated.

that is a softball mask, probably 70s.

Yes... they look antique, but are very common. Probably about a dozen or so on Ebay (and elsewhere) at this time. I would guess late 60's vintage on that one.

The dead givaway on these is the openings are probably big enough for an actual baseball to hit your face. Ouch! :eek:
