If anyone can shed some light on this I'd appreciate it. I've been wondering the following:

What are some ways to tell if a Bowman (most of mine are 1950 and 1955 with a smattering of 48's and 49's) is AUTHENTIC?

How can you tell if it's been trimmed?

It seems to me as though these cards are old enough that I might worry about there being fakes out there but not old or valuable enough for anyone to publish anything regarding authenticity. Which I see as a shame, because they're some of the most beautiful cards in my collection, especially the 1950s.

Thanks

The easiest way is just to post good scans here. Lots of people will be able to tell you if they're real or fake. And if they're fake, they'll tell you how they reached that conclusion. It's hard to say in the abstract how to tell if a card is real or fake.

The Berra is the most important one, I guess. It's got a bit of a stain and a prominent crease which I don't really care about because I don't have the money to hunt for PSA 10s, especially not of guys like Yogi. I just want to make sure that it's real. I've tried to attach the scans here. Let's see if it works...

Yogi looks good to me, I think it is real.

It also looks untrimmed, just way off center.
