Hello, I know this 1934 Detroit Tiger Pennant with the cane has been sold in Major auctions before just can't find the info. Does anyone have a documented sale price on this pennant?

Thanks joe

It typically sells for $600 - $800 with the cane. Below is a very nice example that Hunts sold (along with a pair of tickets to the '34 WS) for $1,000. Of that total, the pennant probably accounted for 75% and the Tix for 25%

I think the highest I've ever seen one sell for is $1,100 and the lowest around $300 (ebay). In NRMT condition like yours appears to be, it's typically a $700 - $750 item. Mike Egner's Pennant Price Guide has it listed at $550 - $700.

There are other variations including a white cloth-like material and another version without the cane. Both of those sell for $350 - $500. Yours is a very nice piece that commands a premium due to the cane.

Hope this helps,
Mark

.

I found mine in a milk canister containing a dozen or so other canes and/or walking sticks at a local antique/flea market type shop afew years ago. The condition of the pennant was amazing. I didn't haggle on the price: $12. I guess that wasn't very sporting of me.

I agree completely with Mark on the $700ish price for this piece. Keep in mind that the price listed for auctions includes the buyers premium in most cases.
