Despite the fact that it's a repro, it is still a really attractive display piece. Maybe that's why it went so high?

A whole lot more than I would spend for a repro of anything, but to a collector who could never afford the original, maybe this presents an acceptable alternative. I believe it is considered to be the "granddaddy" of all Advertising Displays.

If the winning bidder thought he was getting an original, that's another story... I am making the logical assumption that anyone who can fork over $1K for something like this should know the difference, and bid with the knowledge that he was getting a reproduction.
