View Full Version : Why don't Grading Companies recognize Pied 42's

I seen a T206 Baker with a Pied 42 back on the B/S/T. I noticed it has a marker on the label stating that is is Pied 42. I have seen quite a few more T206 Pied 42 backed cards than T205 Pied 42 backed cards yet they don't acknowledge them as rare enough for designation:confused:

Why is this? There are more back variation for T206's than the T205's. I think from what I have seen and bought that there are far more Pied 42 T206's than T205's. Yet Pied 42 backed T205's are easily obtainable for regular price if you could find them. With the exception of a few guys who swear the cards are worth 10x's what they sell for but can never seem to sell them:eek:

I would love to hear any input on this subject.

I think one of the simple answers may be that more people are concerned about the back on t206's. There are people that JUST collect backs for t206, I don't see that type of demand for t205 in general and rarely will I see someone talk up a t205 rarer back.

It's just like a super rare card that doesn't sell for a lot because no one knows how rare it is. I have seen an increase in the demand for t205, but it is nothing like the demand for t206.

Time will likely even things out some, remember it wasn't that long ago where the grading companies didn't label the backs very closely on t206 either.

I think this says it all.
