about 15/years , give or take a few years , there was a guy from maryland who had about 12 firesides at the white plains, n.y. show , I liked the cards , no one else was interested in them , did not buy them at the show , but a couple of weeks later called him and bought them , I think for about $1200.00 , he told me he never thougt he would sell them , picked up a few other firesides and some of the best rochester/ williams baking on the planet from steve verkman when he made house visits , never in a million years would I think these cards would be worth a ton of money or the most desired cards in this moment , thank you , frank /845/590/6224

Frank,
Nice story, do you still have the cards in your collection? If so, I think you might be getting some phone calls.
My biggest regret in this hobby is that I jumped into pre-war so late. When my friends and I were kids and started collecting (mid-70's), we spent most of our money on mid-grade 1960's HOF'ers. I guess it could be worse, I could have a glutton of late 70's Topps laying around............wait a minute, I think I do.

Frank...if the Eddie Plank card is included...I'd LOVE to see a scan!
That's my dream card...someday, okay never...but I still want to see a scan!
Great story. I'd love to see some scans too if possible. :)

I think you should try to corner the market on T208's
Go on and run them through the roof.

Frank,
I think 3 of those came from me about 14 years ago for the princely sum of $250. Yes?

Anyone asking Frankie 5K for a scan is out of luck. I'm not even sure he has a scanner today, let alone 15 years ago.
Frank - The way you phrased your thread, I thought it was like a Ripley's believe-it-or-not show. I believe!
Edit to add... Bruce, NICE!

Iam surprised that you wouldnt think the value would be so huge. These have eluded many including myself for years. David *%$$ *# Festberg had a few in his early auctions but I let them go. SInce then a common and Baker is all that ive seen since 93?
These are nasty tough and Iwould love to have one.

...and who wants to spend big $$ for a HR Baker card featuring Cy Seymour?
