I’ve been receiving Debugging warnings when navigating through net54, does anyone else have this problem?

A hacking program gets downloaded to my computer from net54 which disables my anti-keylogger (unknowingly)!!!

Matt recently posted a thread warning members regarding a net54 hacker', but the thread was quickly taken down or (deleted), why??? Can't find the post!

Leon, Matt or Brian McQueen; can you please give an explanation for this Debugging warnings?

Here's a screen shot:

The other thread was not quickly taken down nor was it deleted. It's still there and it was stickied at the top of the page for almost 2 days. We really don't do that here.

I am not aware of any "Net54 hacking problem." I also don't believe anyone else is experiencing your issue (guys, let me know if you are), so most likely, you download your issue from somewhere else...

Brad - maybe when your email was hacked a few months (http://www.net54baseball.com/showpost.php?p=726326&postcount=22) ago not everything was cleaned?

My guess is that this is a problem with you and/or your computer. As Matt said we don't delete threads or hide anything. Yes, anywhere you go on the internet there is always a chance of getting hacked into or a virus. On the new software, as well as the old, I have never had an issue (knock on wood). I am sure anyone that has had an issue will speak up. My guess is it will be crickets chirping. There is no conspiracy or underground brotherhood that is out to get you, that I am aware of :).

Matt

My best guess is that your "anti-key-logger" software is actually key logging and doing malicious things to your system which caused the exception you saw.

Leon, what make you think I'm paranoid? All I'm doing is informing the board about this problem and there have been other problems, right!!!

I appreciate your informing the board of an issue.....seriously....as far as other problems, no, I am not aware of any in the last several months since the change to this board, except for the one Matt caught and posted about. Are there others I am unaware of?

I need a "loan" and you pretty much answered my question ....take care

ps...thanks for fixing my name...I have been called a lot of things but "loan" isn't one of them. One day my wife answered the phone when I called by saying "Hundred".......We still laugh about it and have no idea where that came from.....

Could this be a result of some of the whales maybe hacking the site to get a look at what's posted on the B/S/T before the rest of the board members have a chance to buy the really good stuff?

I'm always up for a good conspiracy theory, but it looks to me like it's a problem on your end. Suggestions:

1. Try re-installing Internet Explorer.
2. Switch from using IE to Firefox as your internet browser. It is free, and generally regrded as better and more secure than Internet Explorer. You can see a list of security features, as well as the download page, here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/features/#security
3. Run some anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-adware programs on your computer. Suggestions for free programs that can do this (some do different things than others, some features overlap):
Spybot Search and Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html) (What it does (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/index.html))
Lavasoft's Ad-Aware (http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php?t=overview)
CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/download) (What it does (http://www.ccleaner.com/features))
Avast Anti-Virus (http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html) (What it does (http://www.avast.com/eng/avast-free-home-antivirus-antispyware.html))

Note that depending on what you have running, doubling up may not be a good idea (for example, if you have McAfee or Norton running then you probably shouldn't run Avast as well... multiple antivirus programs can conflict with each other). I especially like Spybot S&D and CCleaner. They're great programs and can often get rid of a ton of crap bogging down the performance of your computer. I'm unsure if any of these suggestions will solve your exact problem, but I would recommend all of that to any internet user. Unless you have done all of the above I would hesitate to make the accusation that Leon et al are huddled together in some server room monitoring your keystrokes. I imagine they have better things to be doing. If you don't mind me asking, what is the name of the anti-keylogger software you are using? I imagine that some of the alternatives I listed above would be more effective in preventing your computer from being infected by malware.

Edited for formatting.

David- did you happen to notice David Crosby playing with Buffalo Springfield in that video? He of course was not a member of that band, but played with them at the Monterey Pop Festival...a little rock music trivia.:)

Barry: David Crosby, indeed. Missed him on the first take. Maybe subbing for Neil Young. Hey, good thing we weren't into tattoos bigtime back then. Can you imagine how gross we'd look now?

I think Neil Young did miss Monterey. But the guy with the painted head was there, for sure. So was Brian Jones.

When I heard that they had done a song called Paranoid, I feared the worse (a cover). Thankfully that didn't happen.

Doug

I feared the same thing. Actually Avenged Sevenfold did a pretty decent cover of it which was what I was looking for to begin with.

I was unaware that this site also doubles as an anti-virus site. Next time I get a virus, I will just make a post here to clear it all up :D

Just wondering why one of our newest members who deliberately inflicted harm was never outed?
How long was he a member? One day? One year?

Seems like this cyber vandal was motivated more by malice than greed. Possibly wronged in the past?

he wasn't outed because he was banned as soon as we saw what was going on. His name (registered name anyway) was Jacques "something" and he was from Canada.....My guess is it was a fake name anyway...Everybody has been wronged in the past....who knows?
