Not that I don't love Graig's Big Six, but I'm an Iron Horse collector.

It arrived yesterday!

Oops! Sorry for misspelling your name, Graig.

As a huge Gehrig fan I really love this painting. Looks great on the wall, now you are the luckiest man !

David,
Love the B-17 and 109 models.

Thanks. I've got to constantly remind myself not to elbow the fort.
But I have no other place to put it.

David, Congratulations on the healthy colon as well!

Are you a NASA collector?

Steve,
I had to look again, but that is funny!

David,
What is the significance of the ball in the dome?

That is funny, Steve. Actually, I just had a colonoscopy (too much information!), but thankfully, I was unconscious--didn't see the pretty pictures.

Yeah, I suppose I am a NASA collector--among many other things.

Mark, the baseball--which I have pictured before (probably too many times)--is the game ball, Philadelphia Athletics (Chief Bender) v. NY Highlanders (Russ Ford), Hilltop Park, April 25, 1912.
The inscription is in Bender's hand; the ball was part of his personal collection.
(Next to it, under the other dome, is a piece of the Hindenburg's framework. I collect all kinds of stuff!)

David,

Glad to hear every thing came out(or went in) OK.

Very nice ball.

I was going to ask about the other dome as well. I couldn't figure out what it was from the pic. Where the heck do you get a piece of the Hindenberg?

I'm so glad you like the painting, David! I must say, it's weird to see it in a frame and in a house that's not mine, as I had been used to seeing it up against the wall of my studio. But if there's anyone who I'm proud of to see owning one of my Gehrig paintings, it's you!

"Like" would be putting it mildly.
I've never really been interested in sports art before, Graig, but your work is on another level altogether.
And thanks for the kind words.
