Legendary Collector Tom Collier (now deceased) authored the attached story
on the history of the Collins McCarthy Candy company and their two lead products, Zeenuts and Home Run Kisses.

We thought E card collectors would enjoy Collier's thoughts which appeared in the June 15, 1971 issue of The Trader Speaks.

Here are scans of the article in its entirety, along with an ad from the same issue of TTS that you might find interesting:

Thanks Rob - what's going with with the top 2 corners of that Plank? It looks like the portrait itself has angled corners and then a border around that. Not insinuating that the card wasn't legit; I have no reason to believe it wasn't; just curious what's going on there.

The 1913 Zeenut set is perhaps my favorite of all of them, it has some really great poses, and I have always liked the Sweater poses. Here are a few of my favorites from the 1913's...

That's what caught my eye when I was looking through this issue to find the article. I probably should have posted the ad in its own thread, but outing an auction can be a touchy subject.

Edited to ad that I posted about the Plank in a different thread so as not to derail this one.

1913 Zeenuts are one of my favorite years too, for poses...The Leard has been shown and it's a wacky neat one....Here are a few others...these were from an original collection when I got them...:)
