Looks awful. Hope there wasn't a real buyer at $750.

Ugh, this is unbelievably painful:

"I HAVE NO REASON TO BELIEVE THIS IS NOT AUTHENTIC. I HAVE NEVER SAW ANOTHER ONE FOR SALE ANYWHERE! IF IT WASN'T ORIGINAL,WOULDN'T THERE BE PLENTY FOR SALE? I PURSHASED THIS FROM A ANTIQUE DEALER IN FINDLEY,OH."

The size is way too small according to the whole one offered in REA the width is almost 5 feet on the originals.

The buyer seemed to like it, he left positive feedback.
Hope he doesn't try and sell it at a later date, he might be in for a rude awakening

ONE SIMILAR TO THIS SOLD FOR $85,000 - ULTIMATE PIECE!

So states the seller on the auction page. Wouldn't a minimally critical mind wonder why this one is obtainable for $750?

Kenneth- that simple logic escapes many buyers...and apparently sellers too. If the seller thought it was real would he let it go for less than 1% of the previous sale?

Well Barry. I guess it goes to show that one should never underestimate the power and allure of sugar plum fairies. Scammers have long understood this.

Sean --

Here's what the real one looks like:

Notice the faces look way different on the fakes, and it has that added sign. My photo was from an REA auction in 2006 - the catalog had a fold-out of the display, so I took it out and had it matted and framed for my baseball wall. As a T202 guy, you might ask them for that catalog (29 Apr 06) and get the picture yourself - it's pretty cool!

After looking at the piece again, is it possible that it is a smaller version of the display piece that has not yet been known. This item does not have the seperation panels. I woould love to see the item in person.

This could be a major steal if legit. The wording sure is suspect, but with so few of the big ones known why couldn't a small one be possible.

Im by no means an expert and the legit example is too small. But don't the print dot pattern used on the ebaY sign kill it?

Also, the ebay "HASSAN" is a different font, noticible when comparing the 3D shadowing effect.

I'm turned off by the fact that the faces don't match the cards or the real display that I showed above. Also, I've seen that one multiple times on Ebay, so I can't imagine there are that many of them. I would steer way clear...

Blatant fake probably created in the midwest where the fake trolley car signs and tuxedo ads are made. Dan.

I finally found a picture of that "display." It was part of the newspaper ad of the day promoting the T202 set. I don't have access to the scan of the newspaper ad, as I'm on the road. Maybe somebody else has it...
