I generally don't disagree with the grades I receive, but these two didn't sit well. I am asking for the boards expertise before I decide to resubmit. Thank you in advance.

Bender: SGC 40, outside shot of a 50?

Brown: SGC 30?

Nice cards, nevertheless.

Bender- 30 for the chipping, small creases on the lower right side, and staining on the back.

Brown- 20 The image is nice and the colors are vibrant, but the crease is a heavy one and goes all the way through the card.

I've always felt like grading was like playing the lottery. Sometimes I win and get cards back higher than expected, sometimes I lose and think the grader is full of it.:D

I don't give numeric values, but the Bender would be a VG to VG-. The Brown would be a Good.

I agree that they are SGC 40 for Bender and SGC 30 for Brown. Can't wait for the reveal. I do like the Cycle backed brown though. Just got a grade 4 same one. Nice cards regardless

The bender looks to have several small creases along the lower right so it could be a 30, maybe a 40.

Brown is a solid 30 IMO.

Both present nicely though.

That Bender has a marker on it in addition to small creases, chipping, and stains on back, add it all up and SGC 20 or 30 no more is my guess.

That Brown also has what looks like a pen mark. Both SGC 20 or 30 but who am I

Both a 20. At best a 30.

Unless there is something that doesn't meet the eye from the scan, the Bender should be a 40 and the Brown a 30. There are some tobacco stains below Bender's collar that look like they may have been lightened. If so, and if the paper was damaged, then you are looking at a 30.

Both 30s.

A little bit tough to tell from the scans, but presuming they both graded numerically (i.e. the Brown isn't short and the Bender isn't separating/delaminating at the bottom right corner), I would think that the Brown would grade a 20 due to the heavy crease and the paper loss on the back under the word percentages. I would think that the Bender could get a 30 on a good day, but the trifecta of the mark on the bottom, the staining on the front and back, and the wrinkling on the right border most likely knock it down to a 20 though.

So, presuming they graded numerically:
Bender 20
Brown 20

I am going to go with a 40 on the Bender and a 30 on the Brown.

I'll bid 20 on the Bender and 20 on the Brown. If I win the cards, I plan on flipping them on the B/S/T board for a huge profit. Thanks for the contest Leon...:)

I would give both a "20", with the Brown being a bit better.

Bender 30-40
Brown- 20-30

I would guess we are going to see 2 (20's)....

I purposely looked at both before scrolling down the answers below. My immediate thoughts were 40 (3) on the first one and 20 (1.5) on the second one. If those are in fact markings, then change the 40 to a 30 and keep the 2nd one the same at 20.

I say 40 on the first, 30 on the second. And I'm probably wrong.

T205s are generally graded tough...

I would say 30 for the first card. 20 for the second.

Again, my scanner proved to me what SGC already knew. These cards look incredible in hand. The crease in the Brown barely shows with the naked eye. I guess this is the reason most people compliment the cards I sell...they DO look better in person. The only gripe I guess I still have is with the Bender. It is a Polar Bear. It does have a few tobacco stains. But shouldn't it still be a 40? I have seen far worse cards, mostly with corner wear, in the 40/3 holders. They are both SGC 30/2's:

I'd say both 30s.

I agree that SGC is tough on t205s. No doubt there. I have 3s that should be locks for 4s. Oh well....the cards still look nice.

Nice cards but based on grades I have received in the past from SGC I would accept the 30s for both and move on. I was going to guess 30 for the Bender and 20 for the Brown. Another pair of cards wih nicer eye appeal than the given grades but I think a resubmission would be a waste of your money.

I think the Bender is graded a bit low. A 40 seems more like it to me.

Sorry, the Bender has been touched up with paint on the right hand border as you look at the card, I know because i have removed over 400 painted t 205 cards- look at the card on the side where the paint is you should see discolor-- that is the first clue. Thanks dick towle

I would resubmit the Bender. I've seen cards with heavier creases grade a 40. The T206 Wagner sold by Phillip Weiss graded a 40 and it had a pretty big crease. Wish there was more consistency with grading. There has to be a better way.

No disrespect intended Dick, but I believe SGC is more than capable of spotting painted cards. The color is uniform, other than where there are small creases. Thanks for the opinion anyway.

Grading Inconsistency's

When you stop and think about it, we almost have to chuckle.
Wasn't it due to the grading inconsistency of the dealers, that the graders came into being. :)

The innovation gave us a more expensive heavier card, without losing any of the grading inconsistency's. :D
