Well that was said in half-jest, but on the other hand, it sure ain't the 2004 Black Sox. Papi can cry all he wants but when he left Minnesota after the 2002 season hitting a career high 20 HRs and then goes to the BosSox and hits 31 the next year, 27 after July 31 and gains 30 pounds? Heck no, he didn't use anything, just good old clam chowder. 1997-2002 he hit 58 homers for the Twins. 2003-2008 he hit 246 homers for the Black Sox.
I hate the steroid era and the lying and cheating that went on, meanwhile Joe and Bucky are still banned.
When you are a fan of one of the few (only?) major league teams that didn't have drug abusers on it, it puts the whole era in perspective. :(

What about the Braves series win? I think it was 1995 or 1997? They were clean. I think.

When I was in grad school at Stanford in the early 1970s I had a friend on the football team who regularily used dianabol. Steriods have been around for a long time. Who is to say with certainty that some baseball players in the 70s, or certainly the 80s, did not use steroids?

The 1991 Twins were not clean. Kent Hrbek pushed Ron Gant off of first base and they called him out. I can't remember if it would have made a difference, I just remember being really angry with Hrbek when it happened.

I'd have a hard time believing Kirby Puckett was clean. 17 HR's total his first 4 years of pro ball.......minors included. 31 HR's his fifth in 1986.

Sure, he was likable but so is Big Papi.

Remember Bob, "Trust no one."
How do we know the Twins were clean?
