Recently picked up a 1935 Wheaties fancy frame J. Foxx. Sent to SGC as a single card submission - came back few days ago an SGC 50 - thought it would get better - mild disappointment.

Not able to find much info on these cards, I just called SGC, talked to a nice fellow - comes to find out it is the only Foxx ever graded and it also is the highest grade SGC has ever given out for a 1935 Wheaties - he said there are 4 other Gehrigs, none of which is as high as SGC 50.

What do you folks know of value, desirability and rare factor with 1935 Wheaties? Thanks, steve

I've never understood how grading companies can assign a number grade to a card that is almost always (unless you find a complete or partial box) hand-cut. Perhaps they graded it down because the cut was too close to the frame border ...

that Foxx is a beauty.
i just bought my first Wheaties from Brad G. ---a Lefty Grove(a beaut!), and find myself drawn to them, although i have the same questions that you do.
those Wheaties boxes really do bring back the memories!

congrats
