This may be one of my best ebay purchases. A broadside from a 1936 game between the Monarchs and the Homestead Grays. To me the most interesting part is that it was used for a expense ledger by the Grays staff- most likely Bill Evans. On the front the number of tickets sold is listed and the back details the expenses for ticket takers (3 @ 2 dollars per) I find it amazing that were are talking about organiztions that had Hall of Fame players and they bascially had to use scrap paper for an expense ledger.

I just won it on ebay last week- it was being sold as a part of the estate of Bill Evans a member of the Grays who moved to the front office after his palying days. I paid $76.00 and think that I got a steal

Great broadside Jason! You did get a great deal.

I have shown this magazine many times before and always offer to send a copy, either electronically or on a CD-R, if someone want to see the whole thing.
