I picked up a stack of over 20 Robert Gould All Star cards recenltly. I am trying to decide what to do with them as I am not inclined to attempt to complete the set. I've researched this forum as well as Ebay, about all I can find in terms of their value is a couple cards listed "Buy it now" for upwards of $200.

My questions are:

1) Are any of the cards considered scarce (compared to others in the same set)?

2) What is a reasonable value for a common player?

3) Why are the statues that came with the cards worth so much less(at least that's what I read) when I have had a VERY difficult time finding a single picture of one of the statues - they seem more rare than the cards?

Here are a couple of the cards. Thanks, Greg

The notes I have in my mark-up copy of the Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards indicates that in recent months three different "common" player cards in EX sold for about 2X the price quoted.

The statues don't attract the big bucks because you can't put them in a 9-pocket sheet or have them slabbed for a player registry set :)
