as we know caramels are tough above ex condition, when they show up they command a nice premium, is it safe to say that a vg/ex carmel is the eqivalent to an ex/mt t-206-? i always thought collecting an ex caramel is like getting a nm t-206....is the gap wider or narrower in your opinion? you can also probably add t-205's into the mix..and also bread issues

It's really comparing apples to oranges. While most E cards are tough above EX, there are T cards that are even tougher in VG-EX. Issues such as T200, T213, T214 (Victory), T215, & T222 are much harder to find in VG-EX or better condition than most E cards in EX condition.

While there are T exceptions, like those mentioned, I think generally speaking the spread is about two full grades. Attempting to put together any of the mainstream E sets in ex is roughly as tough as a T206 set in nm. E sets in ex/mt across the board are extremely tough.

The apples and oranges part of the equation is that many E sets are of course much smaller than the T206 set. This does not always equate with easier. With enough money and a little patience, anybody could probably put together 98% of the T206 set in NM or better within about five years. Many E sets are just impossible in NM or better.

Those ears don't look like Cobb's ears.......great card my friend......

back to topic....some T cards are impossible in above vg as they are paper thin....this is about as nice of this type of card as I have seen...this particular variation is paper thin stock...similar to the Virginia Extra's but not quite as rare...

Leon, I completely concur as the "Paper Thin" Issues seem to run in the Authentic to 1 range the majority of the time. 2-3 grade range is extremely tough and rarely seen...

Here's my only Paper Thin Issue above Grade 3...

Hey Jim, its just a shame that the rest of your e93s dont look as nice as that cobb ;)

I also agree that there is about a two grade difference b/t some of the mainstream T's and E sets. However, that's not to say you cant still find lower grade E cards that look every bit as nice as a high grade T card.
