I picked up the lot of 1922 Pittsburgh Pirates signed photos. At about $75 bucks each, I thought it was a good deal but I really wanted the Hal Carlson since he died in 1930!

Rhys,

Are you going planning to break up the group, and sell many of the singles ?

Yes I will sell or trade some of the singles from the group, especially since there are duplicates of most of the guys. You can let me know if you have interest in particular players. There are 5-10 that I really wanted and the rest will hit the website or ebay.

Not baseball but I picked this up the other day - from the 1960 campaign. It used to belong to Robert White.

thanks for the positive response on the ball... I am nick naming it the wallet crusher... as I am now broke:cool:

I just read a recent article about most autgraphs out by the older HOfers being fake.. even ones with a cert from psa or jsa... would anyone that is very familiar with a ruth signature see any reason to suspect the ball i bought above is not real..? thanks

Jamie - the ball looks fine to me. Here is a 1935 Spring Training ball I have. There are a few interesting aspects about this ball. First, it came with original photos of Babe Ruth signing this very ball and Ruth was only with the Yankee during spring training before being traded.

Ruth did not attend Yankee spring training in 1935.

He Had gone to Japan, and returned to the US (via Europe) on February 20. On February 26, The Yankees held a press conference at Rupert's brewery, and Ruth's unconditional release--and new job with the Braves--was announced. There's a famous newsreel clip of Ruppert granting "Root" his release, and shaking hands with him.

PS: Jamie, your Ruth is fine.

Thanks for the feedback on my ball... just needed to double check it would pass the authenticity test of "the board"... my only real source of honest answers... it seems more and more certificates of authenticity... you might still need to be worried.
