I believe that this picture appeared on the front of the NFL Media Guide in the early 40's. I wonder if Hinkle received any royalties for the use of his image. <br /><br />My question is has anyone ever seen one of these before? Posted By: <b>John S</b><p>I was not aware. Although I have seen ink blotters offered before I did not make the connection (and I previously did not own one). Its construction makes a lot more sense knowing now that it is an ink blotter. Thanks.

I thought it was model Train sign.<br /><br />The image I do not think is the same as the one on the 1941 NFL register but recognizable from a postcard made in the late 60's that Hinkle signed like mad.<br /><br />I doubt the blotter is period to his playing days but probably from the 1950's.
