Posted By: Paul S
Anyone else besides me find they have more than, or have seen more than, their fair share of Topps 55 factory miscuts? I don't mean like '55 Bowmans, which stack up like a pile of sliced Swiss Cheese. The Topps usually line up nicely. Here's three of mine. They seem to have gotten the wrong end of the blade on all four sides. I've had these way too long to believe they were trimmed, plus they don't have much wear -- quite clean and glossy -- so I doubt the edges would have been nearly worn enough to warrant trimming.

Posted By: leslie westbrook
I've got several '55 Topps that are severely off-center, but most of these seem to be lacking any border at all. If they're not the same size as a normal '55 Topps, then I suspect that they were trimmed sometime before you got them. If you were the one that pulled them from the pack that way, then I think we're in for a shockingly new 1955 Topps factory screw-up. Again, though, I think they were just trimmed at some point...perhaps to fit into nine-pocket pages?

Posted By: Paul S
Thanks Leslie -- trimmed for pocket pages might be the reason, due to the fact that the cards are otherwise in really clean condition. I got them in the mid-late sixties, likely from the same source/store.
