Posted By: Tony Andrea
Does anyone know anything about these:
4" x 5" b&w glossy pic's of the 78-79 NY Yankee's. They all have what look to be a
blue sharpie signature. I've had these for about a year and when I purchased them
was told no guarantee on the signatures. I sent the Munson into Jimmy Spence for authentication
and was told it was a stamped signature. I'm no professional but boy, under magnification
I even see light smudges from the pen on some and many are streaky like a sharpie will do at times.
Any input would be appreciated.

Posted By: boxingcardman
By a few years as to the Winfield.

I remember these from when I was a kid. They are response cards that were sent out to fans requesting autographed photos of the players if they wrote to the Yankees directly. I had several of them from the 1977-79 era that I got as a kid from the Yankees but I lost them over time.

Andre Robertson, he was a wonderful shortstop, and I thought he'd be in that position for a long time until a car accident wrecked his career.

I went to a show in Brooklyn NY a few years ago and a dealer had a whole stack of them and was selling them as real autographs.

Posted By: Tony Andrea
Thanks guys. I appreciate the info so far on the cards. By the way, the Murcer and Munson
labels on the sleeves were labeled incorrectly by the original seller I obtained
them from. The "stamped" auto's are spelled correctly on the cards of both.

Tony

Posted By: Mike
I have a set... somewhere in my house. I was given them from a friends father. From what I remember he was a photographer and sometimes took pictures for the Yankees. He must have bought or been given a whole bunch of them because he had enough to hand out to every kid on our little league team. I remember mine being more mid-80's. Mattingly, Henderson, the Winfield looks familiar. I remember the blue ink signature, it makes it look deceptively real.
